Hydrogen Grand Prix 2024
Team CQP proudly sponsored the Australian Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) in April 2024.
The H2GP is the largest hydrogen competition in the world, bringing together students to explore the future of clean energy through hands-on learning and innovation.
This year’s event saw 21 teams of high school students from across Central Queensland take on the challenge of designing, engineering, building and racing their own hydrogen-powered cars. The race component was a demanding four-hour endurance test, highlighting the students’ creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
CQP also attended the event and had the opportunity to speak with students about the future of renewable energy in the region, including the proposed Wooderson Solar Farm. Events like the H2GP are an important way to engage and inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators and sustainability champions.
